In this update, we focused on deepening the tactical side of gameplay, reducing repetitiveness, and making in-game situations more varied so that interest in the game lasts much longer.
Global Map Events
New weather events have appeared on the global map, directly affecting navigation, movement, and decision-making.
Storm
- The storm is a tool for breaking pursuit.
- Other ships on the global map try to avoid storm zones.
- While inside a storm:
- you cannot enter the local map;
- the ship takes continuous damage to hull and sails every second;
- movement speed is reduced.
Fog
- On the global map, fog limits visibility and can lead to sudden encounters with enemy ships.
- When entering the local map from fog, as well as during boarding, an intensified fog mode is activated:
- visibility is significantly reduced;
- it is harder to navigate during combat and on deck.

- Ship speed is reduced in fog zones.
Calm
- In calm zones, ship speed is greatly reduced due to the near-absence of wind.
- When entering the local map in a calm zone, a light wind is still present, affecting maneuverability and positioning.
Additional changes and expansions to the global map event system are planned over the next 1–2 months.

Boarding Changes
Captains and Officers
- Enemy captains and officers can appear on the ship’s deck.
- Above their heads:
- an officer is marked with a special symbol (a single inverted “V”);
- a captain has a double symbol (two such marks stacked vertically).
- The captain will be absent from the cabin only if defeated on deck.
- The number of officers depends on the ship class:
- small ships — none or one officer;
- large ships and ships of the line — up to three officers.
Crew Morale
- The captain and each officer increase their crew’s morale.
- While they are alive, enemy sailors deal more damage.
- Killing an officer or the captain:
- reduces morale to its base level;
- applies an additional penalty. - Morale directly affects the damage crews deal to each other during boarding.
Crew Healing
- You can now heal your crew during boarding using healing items.

- If a sailor’s HP drops below roughly one third:
- a special wounded icon appears above them;
- that sailor can be healed. - Only wounded sailors can be healed.
- Crew losses during boarding now have more noticeable post-battle consequences, making crew preservation an important tactical consideration.
Journal and Quests
- The journal now displays all delivery quests, including:
- full descriptions;
- background stories;
- all delivery conditions, including current ones.

- A new quest type has been added:
- other captains can offer you their freight jobs for an additional reward.
Trade and Economy
- Each location uses a dynamic pricing system that changes from month to month.
- Prices depend on:
- nation;
- settlement type (colonies, smugglers, natives, etc.).

- Each trader has their own assortment and priorities.
- Full inter-location trading is now available.
- Planned: showing the latest known prices in the ship’s journal.
Visual Improvements
Test micro-details have been added to the islands, including surface detail and small scene elements that make locations feel more alive.
This is a separate visual improvement currently in testing.
