After the release of the highly controversial Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales game (Sea Dogs 3), many fans of the Sea Dogs franchise did not give up and made every effort to correct the numerous errors in the project — both technical and related to the quantity and quality of content.

It was only thanks to their inspired work that Corsairs: Return of a Legend first saw the light, and then Age of Pirates 2: City of Abandoned Ships. Moreover, we have the opportunity to play many great free add-ons, such as Cursed by Fate or A Pirate's Story.

Not surprisingly, even Akella noticed it at one time, seriously considering Age of Pirates: Mysteries of Distant Seas as a full-fledged candidate for the role of an official continuation of the franchise along with Sea Dogs: To Each His Own.

Released in 2009, today the game Age of Pirates Mysteries of Distant Seas is slightly outdated and may cause some technical problems. However, if you expect a rich narrative from the game and have doubts about Mysteries of Distant Seas, it might still be worth a try.
