Corsairs Legacy 2026 Roadmap: The Path to Version 1.0 and Beyond

Ahoy, captains!
First of all, we want to thank everyone who continues to play Corsairs Legacy, share feedback, report issues, suggest ideas, and support the development of the game.
Over the past weeks, we have released two smaller updates focused on gameplay improvements, balancing, bug fixes, and quality-of-life changes:
Now, we want to share an updated and more focused roadmap for Corsairs Legacy.
This roadmap represents our current vision for the path toward version 1.0. It is not a fixed list of features or deadlines. Our priorities may evolve based on player feedback, gameplay data, and what we learn while implementing new systems and content.
The roadmap below reflects where we want to take Corsairs Legacy based on everything we know today.
Our Main Goal: Version 1.0
Our global goal is to bring Corsairs Legacy to a full release.
For us, reaching version 1.0 is not simply about adding more content or removing the Early Access label.
We want to reach a point where:
-
the game is stable and the number of significant bugs is minimized;
-
players who enjoy pirate RPGs can spend 30–40 hours exploring the world and enjoying diverse gameplay;
-
the main storyline is complete;
-
the existing mechanics, activities, and systems provide a satisfying and varied experience.
Throughout Early Access, we have seen improvements in average playtime and player reception. We continue to analyze gameplay data, reviews, bug reports, and community feedback to understand where the game needs the most attention.
How We Work
Our development process is divided into focused cycles.
During some periods, the team concentrates primarily on new content, quests, mechanics, and major features. During others, we shift our attention toward bug fixing, stability, balancing, and polishing the existing game.
This also affects how actively we communicate with the community.
Sometimes, we are highly active - discussing feedback, answering questions, and collecting ideas. At other times, we may become quieter for several weeks while the team focuses on completing new content or reaching an important development milestone.
So, if we occasionally disappear for a while, it does not mean that development has slowed down. Quite the opposite — it usually means that we are deeply focused on the next stage of the game.
We continue to read your feedback, bug reports, and suggestions throughout the entire development process.
Many community ideas have already made their way into Corsairs Legacy.
For example, we are currently working on new quests related to collecting herbs for apothecaries and expanding the number of apothecaries in the game. This idea originally came from a player who simply shared their suggestion in the Steam Community.
We are grateful to everyone who helps us improve the game.
Completing the Main Storyline
One of our major goals for version 1.0 is to complete the story of Rufus and Catherine and bring the main storyline to its conclusion.
A significant part of this work has already been completed.
Around 20 additional cutscenes have already been illustrated and fully voiced and are now waiting to be implemented into the game.
Our goal is to integrate these scenes, complete the remaining quests, and allow players to experience the full story of Rufus and Catherine as originally planned.
Two Major Gameplay Features
Two major gameplay systems remain among our priorities before version 1.0.
The first is completing the brothel construction quest and implementing the gameplay possibilities associated with it.
The second is the sixth island and the ability to establish and develop your own smuggler settlement.
Players will need to obtain and deliver the necessary resources, including resources acquired through interactions with caravans, to develop the settlement.
Work on the sixth island is already underway.

We can already share some early screenshots of the Indian settlement currently being implemented as part of this location.
More Activities and a More Alive World
Another important direction is increasing the variety of activities available throughout the game.
We currently have around ten smaller quests and activities that we would like to implement.
We also plan to expand the variety of characters inhabiting the world, including adding female NPCs with their own models, skeletons, and animations.
Our broader goal is to continue making the world of Corsairs Legacy feel more alive, diverse, and interesting to explore.
Expanding Naval Gameplay
Naval gameplay remains one of the most important areas we want to develop further.
One of our goals is to allow players to travel between islands directly through local sea locations without always returning to the global map.
We also want to expand the combat system.
Our current plans include the possibility of disabling automatic cannon fire and relying entirely on manual shooting, together with additional skill-based mechanics for naval combat and boarding.
The goal is to provide more tactical variety and give players more control over how they approach battles at sea.
We are also considering the possibility of squadron management. However, this feature is still being evaluated, and we do not want to promise its inclusion in version 1.0 until we are confident that it fits within our development priorities.
Graphics, Stability, and Polishing
Alongside new content and mechanics, we continue working on the technical side of Corsairs Legacy.
Our priorities include:
-
improving game stability;
-
reducing the number of bugs;
-
improving performance and optimization;
-
improving the visual quality of the game;
-
polishing existing mechanics and smaller features;
-
continuing to improve the interface and overall player experience.
These improvements will continue throughout development toward version 1.0.
The Path to Release
These are the main directions we currently see on our path toward version 1.0.
Our roadmap may evolve.
Player feedback may highlight areas that need more attention. Gameplay data may show us that certain mechanics should be improved before others. And during development, we may discover better solutions or new opportunities.
This flexibility has been an important part of the development of Corsairs Legacy throughout Early Access.
We want to continue listening to the community, analyzing how players interact with the game, and focusing our resources on the areas that have the greatest impact on the overall experience.
Beyond Version 1.0
After the release of version 1.0, we plan to continue expanding Corsairs Legacy through content DLCs that add more depth to existing systems and locations.
Our vision is to develop the world iteratively.
Each potential expansion may introduce new buildings, expand existing mechanics, add new gameplay systems, and tell new stories within the world of Corsairs Legacy.
One of the directions we plan to explore is the search for unique ships.
Through dedicated quests and investigations, players will be able to discover vessels with their own histories, characteristics, and advantages.
Together with a planned port management system, this will allow players to collect and store their ships, gradually build their own fleet, and choose the vessel best suited for each journey or task.
Our goal is to move away from a simple progression where a bigger ship always means a better ship.
Different vessels may offer advantages in speed, maneuverability, combat capabilities, maintenance costs, or suitability for specific activities.
Unique ships will also have their own narrative backgrounds, giving players more reasons to explore the world, complete new stories, and build their own collection of vessels.
Beyond these plans, our future direction will depend on player feedback, the reception of version 1.0, and the performance of the expansions that follow.
Based on this, we will make decisions about the next stages of Corsairs Legacy and our future games.
Thank You for Being With Us
We want to thank everyone who has supported Corsairs Legacy throughout Early Access.
Every review, bug report, suggestion, discussion, and message helps us understand how we can improve the game.
Sometimes, your ideas directly become part of Corsairs Legacy. Sometimes, your feedback helps us reconsider priorities or look at existing mechanics from a different perspective.
There is still work ahead of us, but we believe that the game continues to move in the right direction.
Our goal remains the same: to continue expanding and enriching the world of Corsairs Legacy, making it more alive, immersive, and engaging through deeper mechanics, diverse activities, and new stories worth discovering.
Thank you for sailing with us.
See you in the Caribbean, captains!
