Sea Dogs: To Each His Own map — Maracaibo and Cartagena colonies
The Spanish colonies of Maracaibo and Cartagena are located in the same mainland region — Central New Granada. That is exactly what we are going to talk about here.
Maracaibo is probably one of the most infamous colonies in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own, largely because of the quest “The Scorching Sun of Maracaibo” from the “Under the Black Flag” DLC. Oddly enough, this is one of the main reasons the city stands out.
This region is also home to one of the three plantations in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own: one more is on the island of Barbados, and the last one is near Portobello.
It is difficult to single out Cartagena for anything specific besides its important story role near the end of the “Under the Black Flag” DLC, so let’s focus on the economic side of both cities — and what they mean for naval trade.
First of all, both colonies have the same set of shopkeeper types: everyone except the native trader. However, the price distribution in their stores is different, so let’s take a closer look at trade opportunities.
In the Maracaibo goods table, it is easy to notice a “green” price for cocoa — which is extremely useful, since this commodity is scarce in several other cities in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own.

For the same reason, another excellent piece of news for traders is the presence of “green” prices for leather, vanilla, and copra in Cartagena. Moreover, Cartagena also offers a “green” price for gold.

The price tables are relevant for Sea Dogs: To Each His Own version 1.7.3.
For manga rosa hunters, Central New Granada in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own is definitely a pleasant region: you can find two plants here. The first manga rosa is in Coveñas Bay, growing literally from under the water. The second manga rosa can be found near Maracaibo in an area with two exits and a lone rock by the road. You can reach it quickly by climbing out of the nearest cave using the rope.
Please note that manga rosa can be collected only during your first visit to a location in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own — once you leave the area, the plant disappears permanently.
