Sea Dogs: To Each His Own map — Curaçao Island

Curaçao is a rather notable island, largely thanks to one of the two Dutch colonies in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own — Willemstad. It is on Curaçao that the Dutch West India Company is located.

You can complete the quest “The Dutch Gambit” on their side. Unlike the other factions, this path grants you a unique advantage: the only opportunity in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own to purchase ship silk.

In addition to silk, the Dutch West India Company also sells navigation instruments.

During the aforementioned quest — regardless of the side you choose — you will encounter a situation where you are offered to sell a jade skull for a large sum of money. Our advice: agree. This unlocks certain future events, while the skull itself has no practical use for the player.

In Willemstad, you will find one of the few shipyards where you can upgrade your vessel. Specifically, you can choose between hull durability upgrades (for resins) and maximum crew capacity upgrades (for lignum vitae). Naturally, you will need a substantial amount of doubloons.

Almost the full set of street merchants is available (only the native trader is missing), and from the perspective of naval trade, Willemstad is the most interesting city in Sea Dogs: To Each His Own.

See the price table below for yourself. By the standards of the game, it features an exceptionally large number of scarce goods. It is also noteworthy that ship silk can be sold to the shop, but this is extremely unprofitable — selling it to smugglers is always more lucrative.
